I spent much of Spring of 2023 looking at the little things - watching the things growing in all the unexpected places. I studied overgrown abandoned lots, field of wildflowers in the Cascade mountains, the forest floor, cracks in the sidewalk, and tide pools on the Washington coast. This series I titled "Wallflowers" is a celebration of the relentlessness of life. The plants are hand sculpted from Borosilicate glass using a torch, then attached to a hand built and iridescent glazed ceramic base. Teeth on the backside to mount to a wall. due to their incredibly fragile nature, pieces are not available for shipping - pickup only.
